YOU-ARE-YOUR-MIND-16

—M N Raju

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
—Buddha

Exercise not only adds life to your years and it also adds years to your life.

In our previous article we had discussed about the Quote of Martial, “Life is not merely being alive, but being well”.

To live long with good health and with real joy of life is the wish of every one of us. Good health is possible by being a disciplined person in day to day life. And real joy of life is also possible by being a person who has mental discipline. So “Good Health” and “real joy” are possible if one is well disciplined physically and mentally. Of course, physical health and mental health are not separate issues or entities and moreover they are inter-linked, inter-related and inter-dependent. If good health is there, good mental health is possible and similarly if good mind is there, good health is possible. Your day to day life, your morning walk, your exercise, your food, your thinking process, your behaviour and many more aspects in life are linked with each other. Each act of yours has to contain both physical and mental balancing activity, to keep your eternal soul comfortable.

Exercise:- It is also not possible to say that a particular system of exercise is useful for body or another type is better for mind. Any exercise or any activity you do in your daily course of life works on mind and body simultaneously. Take the example of eating your food.

Generally we think that food is taken by simple activity. It is not simple physical activity but mental activity also. You are eating good food at your dining-table, but you are not in good mood, angry or absent minded or not interested to eat. Then the food is not tasty or it does not give you the good result. It means, the food which supposed to be a strength source, becomes useless stuff. If you take your food with full positive presence of mind, you can enjoy it and the food taken will give good result on your mind and body. You enjoy your food and it yields wonderful result. So if the activity of taking food is done with full presence of mind, feeling grateful to God and the people who helped to bring the food on to your dining-table, such an act is received by your whole being well.

It is clear that every activity done with the well presence of mind, shall be an effective landmark in one’s life.

Even acts like your “Behaviour” in the society, if both body and mind are involved it enriches your “Personality” and you can build a better “Character” of yours. For such an improvement:-

• Improve your body language.
• Stand and walk majestically.
• Don’t show arrogance.
• Smile pleasantly with your eyes.
• Express your ideas with selective and meaningful words.
• Be positive in all acts.
• Be confident and fearless.
• Concentrate on every point you get involved.
• Above all, love yourself, love your work, love your time and love your food, your exercise etc and love everything.

Every simple act, if taken care, will turn to be a small stream of a river at its origin, starts its journey, to become a mighty river and the river becomes a source of life and the purpose of river like life, shall be the joy of life.

Then one can enjoy the wealths of life:-

• Inner wealth is the highest degree of wealth enjoyed by your soul through its conscious mind, sub-conscious mind, physical body and subtle body.
• Family wealth: The good family life is earned through the above positive acts
• Physical Wealth: with the best health the best life is possible
• Career wealth: If every care is taken you will have successful career.
• Economic wealth: One can enjoy the financial comforts also if one is confident of himself / herself.
• Adventure wealth: One can become fearless, confident and positive by practicing the above principle.
• Impact wealth: It means to reach the goal even in adversities and hard times and not to give up or to miss the target.
