We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

Your body contains billions of cells and the beauty is, all these billions of cells are from the ‘One original cell’. That single original cell is the mother and father of all these billions of cells, and your body is the home of billions of cells – infact your body is the sum of these cells. The physical structure starts growing when the original single cell starts multiplying itself into billions and trillions. As long as the cells are healthy, you are healthy and happy. If the growth of cells is hampered due to an accident, suffering from a disease, or accidental dislocation, then the problem starts in your body.

That is why science says that the ‘Cell’ is the ‘life’. Let us understand the ‘life’ of life and how it happens again and again forever, that is, death after birth and birth after death.

Let us understand more wonders of the cell.

Our physical structure is made up of trillions of cells. For example, one Kg of human body contains one trillion cells. Similarly a boy of 35 kg weight will have 35 trillion cells.

All the cells of a body are not of the same kind. They are different. If you know how many variety of cells there are in each body, it is a mind numbing number. There are lacks of varieties of cells. Your brain alone has lacks of varieties of cells. Your brain does innumerable functions like thinking, remembering, giving commands, taking commands, smelling, seeing, laughing, crying etc etc. each of these functions need variety of cells. That means your brain contains various pockets for each of these functions.

There is one more strange thing to be understood which is also very complicated. Generally, we come across two important words. They are conscious mind and subconscious mind. To understand these two words, we require certain explanation and verification. In broad sense conscious mind is your brain and subconscious mind is your cells. Both are dependent, independent and interdependent. They are dependent because each needs the second one to carry on the day to day life of the human being. They are also independent since they work separately for certain purposes of our day to day life. And they are interdependent because both together work for various reasons. If the conscious mind and subconscious mind are compared with each other to know their capacity, subconscious mind is more powerful than the conscious mind. We can take the example of an ice-berg. If you observe an ice-berg 1/5th will be floating above the level of water and 4/5th is floating below the water level.

Similarly, our conscious and subconscious minds are comparable with an ice-berg. The conscious mind carries 1/5th of the power rather and subconscious mind carries 4/5th of the power. Here also we can make one more comparison. The wonder is ice-berg is also water floating in water. Though ice-berg is water which is solidified, it has its own identity in the water. That means ice-berg is also water but has its own identity in the water itself.

The conscious mind and subconscious mind are also parts of your body. They are the parts similar to other parts of your body. But both have got special identity in your body, just like an ice-berg has got its own identity in the water, though it is also water.

Now, you can understand the importance of cells in your brain (Brain is the physical part of your mind and the mind is its thinking process). In our coming issues we will also try to understand about the importance of cells of other parts of our body. For example, let us consider the digestive system. If you eat a small chocolate, the chocolate is converted into various chemicals and various types of food materials for the cells and that food is carried to all parts of the body to supply to the cells of your body. And all this is done by the cells. This aspect we will discuss in our next issue.
