—M N Raju

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

We had discussed that if one understands his / her Body, Mind(s) and Soul in a proper way, he / she navigates life towards the meaningful purpose. God created each one of us with a purpose and the purpose is the purpose of life. Does God indicate the purpose of life to you? May not. But it is your choice to select your purpose.

• The Bhagavad Geetha tells about the conditioning of your mind in the following manner:- “He who hates no being, who is friendly and compassionate to all, who is free from the feeling of I and mine and forbearing his relationship is a being of purpose”
• Edward Dyer says about mind “My mind to me a kingdom is: such present joys there in I find that it excels all other bliss, that earth affords or grows by kind”.
• The Bhagavad Geetha also tells about body:-
“For him who is moderate in eating and recreation, temperate in actions, regulated in sleep and wakefulness, Yoga becomes the destroyer of pain”. • Walt Whitman says about body “If any thing is sacred, the human body is sacred”.
• The Bhagavad Geetha also tells how soul is liberated:-
“The souls that prepare themselves in purity are able to hear Krishna’s flute and turn Godward”
• Henry Wordsworth Longfellow says about soul:-
“Life is real, Life is earnest
And the grave is not its goal
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Wasn’t spoken of the soul.”

The above statements about Mind, Body and Soul are the reality of man’s life. Among three of them none is to be neglected. You have to take care of all the three of them.

Let us understand that:

The two minds, Conscious Mind and Sub-Conscious Mind are independent yet together, like our two eyes having one purpose and one vision. They are like the two wings of the same bird to integrate the actions. They are our infinite, inexhaustible and indomitable forces of life.

The Body is the most important creation of God, and you have to know about its importance.

• It is a great scientific fiction.
• It is a mystery. Science is trying to understand body for millions of years, yet it is still continued.
• It is a science itself.
• It is a philosophy.
• It is spirituality.
• It is your vehicle.
• It is the abode of God.
• It is a question.
• It is an answer.
• It is wiser than mind.
• It is the physical body.
• It is subtle body.
• It is independent.
• It is interdependent.
• It has birth.
• It has life.
• It has death.
• It is a wonder of wonders.
• It is a stepping stone for a better future.
• It is energy.
• It has great wisdom.
• It has great knowledge.
• It knows what is needed to live.
• Behave well with your body if not health problems will be there.
• Be natural with your body.
• Listening to your body means listening to nature, listening to your inner being.
• Stomach is the cause of a thousand and one illnesses, if care is not taken.
• Pushing too much into your body is not advisable.
• Keeping body without action too is not advisable.
• Sleep in a balanced way is good. Over sleep or less sleep is not good.
• If you are unable to sleep don’t worry, but meditate (what is meditation will be explained in later chapters)
• Feel body more – enjoy action – running, walking in the morning.

The Mind + Body + Soul = Joy of life
If life is a tree:
1) The body is its roots and branches.
2) The Mind is its flowers and fruits.
3) The Soul is its seed, the seed is the continuation of life.
